Breakfast is at 8.30am each morning then the children have a daily chore - different duties for each dorm - and get ready for dorm inspection at 9.15am before heading down to the Common Room to meet all the instructors and Sciennes staff. It's always a bit of a squeeze! This is when they find out their activities for the day and arrange an initial meeting place. Each group then meets with their instructors at different meeting points around the building to find out what they will need to wear/bring. As the week progresses our pupils become more and more skilled at organising themselves, their time and their equipment to be ready for their next adventure. They learn quickly that hanging up their waterproofs and remembering where they put them saves a huge amount of time! We have been extremely impressed with their listening skills - not only in smaller groups but also when all 91 pupils gather together. Lunch is a moveable feast, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, depending on the morning and afternoon activities, then it's off again into the great outdoors until 5pm for tea and cake back at the Centre.
